Basic Optics Course

This one day course was designed for only one purpose. To save you money. If you want to be a long range shooter, big game hunter, or have the need to use rifles in any capacity, you will eventually buy a rifle scope. There are hundreds of different scope manufacturers with just as many different scope models, thousands of sub-models and this might make the task of picking a new rifle scope quite daunting. In this course you will learn about the difference between $100 glass and $1000 glass, what is parallax, how to use your reticle for ranging, difference between front focal and second focal optics, how to properly mount a scope, what is “lapping rings”, what are very common problems in mounting as well as how to sight your rifle in using only two rounds. We will also dis-spell some “Scope Myths” such as why does 30mm tube not transfer anymore light than a one inch tube, why does 3-9x50mm scope not provide any more clarity than a 3-9x40mm scope, why does higher cost not necessarily equal to better quality and much more. At the end of this course you will not only have a much more intimate understanding of how does a rifle scope work but you will also know  what type of a scope you need for your application as well as how much money to spend on it. This course will not only save you money but it will also fast track your skill level and save you time on the range.
